Watch Brain Fitness 2: Sight and Sound on PBS
What part of your body enables you to see? If you answered your eyes, you're only partly right. The brain plays an equally important role in our sense of vision, and scientists now know that what we see can actually change how we see.
Beginning in November, public television stations across the country will air Brain Fitness 2: Sight and Sound. A follow up to last year’s extremely successful PBS special, The Brain Fitness Program, the new show focuses on the brain’s visual system and its amazing ability to change over a person’s lifetime. This concept—called neuroplasticity—is the scientific foundation of brain fitness and has completely changed the way scientists think about the brain.
Brain Fitness 2 is narrated by Emmy Award-winning actor Peter Coyote and features interviews with Dr. Michael Merzenich, co-founder and chief scientific officer of Posit Science. The two-hour program also includes interviews with experts in the field of neuroplasticity such as Dr. Richard Frackowiak, Dr. Adam Gazzaley, Dr. Margaret Livingstone, and author Shannon Moffett.
