Position: Graphics Designer; Cortex Products, Job ID #24-709 (Contract only)
Location: San Francisco, California
Reports to: Art Director, Product Development

Background
Posit Science was founded in July 2002 to develop scientifically validated, non-invasive brain health programs based on the latest advances in neuroscience. We strive to move technologies out of the laboratory and into the hands of people, where they can do the most good. Our initial focus is on promoting cognitive health and preventing cognitive decline in mature adults.

Job Description:

Specific Responsibilities:

• Produce complex interface elements that will be integrated into the product
• Develop graphics to illustrate key scientific concepts
• Work from wireframes to develop final layouts for web deployment
• Prepare art for final delivery to programmers
• Create and maintain style guide
• Works closely with Game Designer, Art Director, and Marketing to assess creative needs based on project
• Work closely with Marketing Communications to understand corporate branding guidelines and ensure graphics are within these guidelines.

Key Skills and Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ yrs experience designing graphics and graphical user interfaces for applications and the web
• Ability to understand complex concepts and present them in a clear manner
• Fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Must have a solid sense of design, layout and color
• Expertise in optimizing graphics for the web
• Solve conceptual problems with creative solutions within style guide and UI requirements
• Experience creating icons a plus.
